Support at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
To help you begin your employment at HHU smoothly, you will also receive support from your faculty's dean's office. The following measures and services are designed to help you quickly integrate into the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
The Appointment Manager acts as your central point of contact and guides you through the integration process (see right-hand column for contact details).
A colleague from your department will be there to assist you with technical, organisational and academic questions and to help you settle into the university and faculty.
During the first 100 days, you will have a meeting with the dean to reflect on your initial experiences, challenges, and prospects, and to discuss any concerns you may have or possible steps for your development.
The inaugural lecture offers another milestone where you, as a newly appointed professor, can present your main areas of research and network with colleagues and peers of the faculty.
A close exchange with the graduate academy of the faculty is already initiated by the Onboarding@HHU programme. The Graduate Academy philGRAD supports your doctoral researchers and offers career counselling for the future career.
Postdocs and research group leaders are supported by the Junior Scientist and International Researcher Center (JUNO). All the graduate academies of the faculties at HHU form an umbrella institution at HHU – the Heine Research Academies (HeRA), in order to jointly support early career researchers.
Das Wiki (in German) serves as an information page for all members of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities: students, teachers, as well as technical and administrative staff will find helpful documents, relevant contacts, and links to various topics relating to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. New employees can use this page to find information and get their bearings.
